Current Issues and Strategy of Protection of Chinese Traditional Architectural Heritage——An Example of Folk House in Dingcun,Fenyang,Shanxi Province
The current Chinese traditional architectural heritage under protection has three types of buildings: aulic, religious,and folk house. The aulic and religious buildings have been paid comparatively high attention for protection due to their important historic roles, however, the widely existing folk houses have been neglected for long. With the improvement of social economic standards and high quality of life, ancient folk houses are being reconstructed and broken and disappearing. So how to deal with the vanishing traditional architectural heritage is the main topic in this article. This article discusses the protection and planning of folk houses in Dingcun, Xiangfen, Shanxi Province, and establishes some protection measures, and also puts forward some protection strategies and measures on the traditional architectural heritages in China.
