LOW-ENERGY, HIGH-CURRENT ELECTRON BEAM TRANSPORTATION THROUGH A PLASMA CHANNEL IN A GUIDE MAGNETIC FIELD
The process of high-current, low-energy electron beam transportation through a plasma channel in a guide magnetic field has been studied experimentally and by the use of computer simulation. It has been shown that the decrease of the beam current amplitude with the length of the drift channel as well as the transformation of the beam energy distribution via its cross section may be explained by incomplete neutralization of the beam space charge at the stage of beam current rising.
