Design,Implementation and Evaluation of a Network Management System for a High Quality IP-Based Video Transmission Service

摘要：

To meet the growing demand for IP-based video transmission services,we investigated the architecture of a Network Management System (NMS) from the viewpoint of actual operations and management.To verify the architecture investigated,we designed and implemented a prototype of the NMS,which manages both the video transmission service and the underlying network infrastructure based on Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) DiffServ-TE technology.The developed NMS successfully enabled operators not only to associate video service sessions with Label Switched Paths (LSP) and network equipment,but also to immediately assess the influenced services and LSPs by pinpointing network failures.
