GEARBOX HEALTH EVALUATION SYSTEM BASED ON WAVELET FOR CONDITION BASED MAINTENANCE
In the implementation of optimal maintenance decision analysis, the effect of maintenance activities depends heavily on the accuracy of health indicators, which is also called as Fault Growth Parameter (FGP). For this reason, research on condition monitoring techniques for rotating machinery has been a long-term concern and has attracted intensive research interest. As a typical rotating machinery, gearbox is widely applied and its health condition is critical in maintaining performance of a mechanical system. However, due to its complicated structure with gears, shafts and bearings, it is sometimes difficult to identify incipient failures and evaluate machine condition since collected vibration signals are the mixture of these components. This paper proposed a novel health evaluation method for gearbox condition monitoring purpose. The proposed method utilizes vibration signals collected from gearbox cage and realizes filtering with Comblet. By applying wavelet transforms, a health indicator is constructed. Finally, the proposed system is validated with a set of gearbox vibration signals and analysis results show its effectiveness through comparison with other works.
