FAULT TREE ANALYSIS ON SEAL FAILURE OF HIGH PRESSURE AMMONIUM CARBAMATE PUMP
The seal failure probability exists great in the high pressure ammonium carbamate pump (HPACP), which plays an important role in the urea plant. To solve the problem, a comprehensive deep dive analysis of causation of seal failure is proposed in this paper. By using the method of fault tree analysis (FTA), a fault tree model of seal failure is established; and the structure importance of each basic event is calculated. Then the application of the structure importance is introduced in brief. At last, the advice is given to reduce the performing risk of HPACP in urea unit. The significance of applying risk analysis in urea plants is presented.
