MODELING INFRASTRUCTURE INTERDEPENDENCIES USING FRAGILITY CURVE ANALYSIS AND EXTENDED PETRI NET
In this paper, fragility curve analysis and extended Petri-Net have been performed to simulate the interdependencies of the flood-related infrastructures. Vulnerability of infrastructure due to flood is quantified through fragility curves, and the consequent cascading effects resulting from failure of any related system or component are simulated using extended Petri Net. A case study has been carried out to demonstrate the feasibility of above integrated model. The obtained results show that the integration of above model and analysis is a very useful tool for addressing flood distribution impacts on critical infrastructures and predicting overall vulnerability of infrastructure damage states. This reliability analysis method can be used to evaluate the performance and reliability of existing infrastructures, identify significant design and provide the planning of maintenance and inspection.
