FIELD-WIDE INTEGRATED PLANNING IN COMPLEX AND REMOTE OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT: REFLECTIONS BASED ON AN INDUSTRIAL CASE STUDY
With the gradual arrival to the peak of oil production, Oil & Gas (O&G) producers are challenged to increase the working efficiency while reducing production costs. This continuously demands application of various innovative techniques and novel work management solutions. In this context, collaborative work and integration of work processes have become a major focus of interest. One of the well-known initiatives, in this regard, involves a strategic and field-wide integrated work planning that aims at more efficient and cost-effective coordination of activities by core disciplines and stakeholders for maximizing the business results. This paper addresses issues related to Integrated Planning (IP) within an O&G offshore production environment. This is based on an ongoing project in Norway and China with close cooperation with the O&G industry.
