Performance Analysis Technique for Fixed Priority Scheduling with Hybrid Real-time Transactions
Performance analysis is important in real-time system design. As the transaction sets in real-time system became more and more complicated, the traditional mathematic techniques encountered considerable limitations.By converting all kinds of real-time transactions into pseudo-period ones, we can only get the real-time performance under the worst case.Aiming at this problem,we developed a simulation technique based on Coloured Petri Nets(CP-nets or CPNs) and its supporting tools. The CPN has plentiful probability distribution function library and time function library so we can model and perform system performance analysis for .xed priority scheduling with hybrid real-time transactions.Shown in the experiment, this technique can quickly model hybrid real-time transactions and .xed priority scheduling mechanism. Furthermore, the modular-based characteristic can shorten the design period, optimize the real-time system design and help to expand the modeling system such as adding new processors.
