Empirical Analysis of the Types of Knowledge Transfer in Enterprise Informatization

Enterprise informatization is essentially a process of transferring IT knowledge, management knowledge and business knowledge among the developer, the user enterprise and other associated organizations. The successful informatization projects depend on effective knowledge transfer.In this paper, the authors proposed a knowledge transfer framework of enterprise informatization that consists of six types of knowledge transfer: contract transfer,instruction transfer, reference transfer,constraint transfer, competitive transfer and adaptive transfer. Using the multi-cases research technique, we interviewed 12 Chinese enterprises and found that the effect of knowledge transfer directly affects the project implementation result, and the six types of knowledge transfer exist in the successful informatization projects indeed.
