Path choice model of congestion toll transportation networks

The adoption of disaggregate analysis in transportation has led to widespread use of path choice models to describe the influence of the characteristics of decision-makers and the attributes of alternatives and choice. The main purpose of this paper is to present a systematic review of the modeling approaches and theoretical results obtained for path choice models based on congestion toll under stochastic equilibrium to congestion network. The main theoretical aspects of discrete choice models are introduced. The main assumptions used to derive discrete choice models in general, and random utility models in particular, are covered in detail. Some results about models used to simulate path choice behavior are discussed. Finally, we point out indications for further research.
