Empirical Analysis of Improved Taguchis Tolerance Design

Tolerance design plays an important role in variation reduction and cost savings.Application study is discussed on Taguchis tolerance design improved by variation coefficient and analysis of variance (ANOVA).The improved Taguchi tolerance design is discussed in three stages. The optimized process of the example sufficiently illustrates that design of experiment is an important method for parameter design, as well as tolerance design.Process capability index as a measure of the design level of six sigma is adopted as a criterion of quality to improve the capability of design. The results show that tolerance design should be optimized according to not only each factors variability but the variation effect. The robustness of product is achieved with six sigma design level.
