INTERACTIVE ELECTRONIC TECHNICAL MANUAL AUTHORING AND DISPLAY SYSTEM DESIGN BASED ON S1000D AND PDM
Currently, the product Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) has already been the most important content of the Continuous Acquisition & Life-cycle Support (CALS) strategy. This paper designed the common product IETM authoring and web-based display system based on the S1000D Specification. The common IETM Authoring System provided management of required basic data through a Common Source Database (CSDB), including product structure, data module meta information, XML documents, data module schema documents and eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XLST) documents, related IETM resource information, configuration information and so on. The IETM authoring can refer to the enterprise (Product Data Management, PDM) System. The web-based IETM Display System provided end users XML-formatted data module documents management, browsing and navigation, link and search, bookmark and note, fault diagnosis functions and so on to support product operation and maintenance.
