Exploring Sustainable Urban Development Paths - A System Dynamics Exploration Approach

摘要：

Urban areas have special importance within the broader context of sustainable development.Approximately one third of the worlds six billion people currently dwell in urban areas. It is projected that by 2050, when the worlds population will have increase to nine billion, two thirds will live in urban areas. A generic framework was developed to help to discover patterns and processes of urban/regional development, and mechanisms behind them. If will help to answer the following fundamental questions: This research will focus on ·What are the sustainable urban development paths might look like;·How progress towards it mightbe measured;·How this path can be achieved.
