The Management of Employees Initiative Demission Based on Specific Investment

From the meanings of specific investment, employee cant quit the organizations easily because of the hold-up problem induced by specific investment. The paper considers that employees have made some specific investment during their work,including firm specific investment and manager specific investment. However, there is more and more turnover in the practice, which seems inconsistent with the theory. The paper analyzes the problem from the perspective of specific investment and divides employees into four kinds based on their degree of specific and value to the enterprise, which are core employees, necessary employees, assistance employees and attentive employees, and gives different advices to different kinds of employees.
