Evaluations of Sustainability of Social,Economic and Ecological Development in Mainland China-a Research Proposal
Mainland China is developing market economy in great depth. Though this country has achieved astonishing results, the question whether such development is sustainable has attracted the attention of government and scholars. To answer the question, a research project is under way. We expect to see an objective and holistic analysis using SD modeling.Macroeconomy, social, technical and ecological systems are closely related. System Dynamics can be applied to create the Chinese Macroeconomy model, quantitatively describing the complex relationship of various factors.With the model, we could simulate the mid/long term development trend of the Chinese Macroeconomy system and investigate the fluctuation of various economic factors. We could also study the linkages of population,resources, environment and economy. Such a study could show the trends, characteristics,conflicts, social problems and economic development in the next 10 years or even hundred years and it could provide strategic suggestions to Chinas future development.
