A Comparative Study on the Contribution of Information to Economic Growth--Zhejiang, China and Aichi, Japan
This paper attempts to measure the contribution of information to economic growth as well as to carry on the empirical analysis, using the frontier production function and the panel data of input-output table, and taking the Chinese Zhejiang Province and the Japanese Aichi Prefecture as a case study. The research indicated that, as economic developed area Aichi, its contribution of information to economic growth is three times of that of economic developing area Zhejiang. The reason mainly lies in the difference of the scale of information input, the connotation of information input, and the distribution of information input. Those differences cause the information to have the leadership and widespread uses in production process in Aichi, but do not have them in production process in Zhejiang.
