The Application of Entropy Method in the Overall Evaluation of Sustainable Development in Coalmining Cities
This paper introduces the basic principles of entropy method, designs an evaluation index system of sustainable development and proposes the concept of coefficient of sustainability and that of development coordination of coalmining cities. By using the example of Xuzhou city, this paper calculates the sustainable development level in the year 1995-2003 and conducts the check test by using the principal component analysis method. The results demonstrate that the entropy method is a simple, subjective and practical overall evaluation method.
