The effect of technical parameters on characteristics of selective laser sintering dental glass-ceramics powder
Dental glass-ceramics restoration material has excellent physical and chemical, mechanical,aesthetic and biocompatibility characteristics. However, casting methods adopted at present have complicated procedures and high costs, especially are difficult to control the forming qualities. These problems greatly restricted their clinical application and promotion. Therefore, a new forming process based on selective laser sintering technology was proposed. Firstly, the dental glass-ceramics was made of fine powder by taking special heat treatment process. Then, the dental restoration parts with demanded shapes were manufactured by using selective laser sintering without any moulds. In the study, different forming processes with different laser power, scanning velocity, scanning interval and layer thickness,were used to make the glass-ceramics standard testing parts under different conditions. Through analyzing the relative density of the testing parts, the effect of technical parameters on the parts performances was concluded, which will provide theoretical and technical basis for dental glass-ceramics restorations of selective laser sintering.
