EXPERIMENTAL BEHAVIOR OF ADOBE AND RAMMED EARTH WALL OF RURAL HOUSES USED IN YUNNAN PROVINCE

摘要：

Experimental study on the behavior of adobe and rammed earth wall of rural houses used in Yunnan Province is put forward in this paper. The experiments include compression, shear and bending test of single adobe and adobe block, and geotechnical test of used soil, and uniaxial lateral loading test of rammed earth and reinforced rammed earth wall specimens. The mechanical properties of the specimens are obtained through test. Furthermore, characteristics of adobe and rammed earth wall used in Yunnan Provinces rural houses are concluded. Finally,proposals to improve the load carrying capacity of adobe and rammed earth wall are presented.
