City-level E-waste Recycling Activity in China
Considering the content of both toxic and valuable materials, the e-waste recycling has been attracted much interest at city level. Currently, due to the precious materials and low cost, a number of waste electrical and electronic equipments (WEEEs) in city are collected by private collectors, and treated in the high pollutant way. In this study, the city-level e-waste recycling project is proposed to various groups in city to control the environmental pollution and get the high utilization rate of resources. For government agency and institution, a series of policies on e-waste collecting will be drafted up to regulate the flow of used EEE in the office. For the company, a partnership is developed to establish a cooperative relation with treatment technology on a service platform. In addition, a few of demonstration sites have been built to collect a great deal of e-wastes from the resident. During these measures, the flow of e-waste could be controlled to treat and disposal by the environmental sound treatment.
