Ecological Solid Waste Management Evaluation Instrument: a Standard Guide to Determine SWM Effectiveness at Barangay 9-A, Davao City, Philippines
Solid Waste Management (SWM) refers to the collection, transportation, final disposal and recycling of solid wastes. The study aims to determine the usefulness and effectiveness of the SWM evaluation instrument in the implementation of SWM programs. The study ascertained that the SWM instrument is useful and effective in the implementation of the SWM program at the barangay level. The instrument set out the goal, criteria, brief description of their eco-waste management system. It revealed that Barangay 9-A adhered to the criteria, passed necessary ordinances and policies, implemented programs, regularly monitored the implementation and encouraged social participation.
