Heat Transfer in Fixed Bed with a Crossed Heat Tube
In this paper,the two-dimensional mathematical model of cross-flow heat transfer in the fixed-bed was presented and the temperature distribution was tested by experiments. It was found that the isothermal curve in the temperature field is ellipse curve for the bed with crossed heat tube. Consequently the heat transfer is closely related to the direction of fluid. The heated region is mainly behind the tube.On conditions of Rep = 10~260, Db/Dp = 28 ~116, Lb/Dt = 1.8~7.4, the experiments ofcross-flow heat transfer were performed to study the effect of bed size, particle diameter andReynolds number on the wall heat transfer coefficient. The following correlations of Nusseltnumber were obtained:For high thermal conductivity particles, Nuf = 12.07 ×(Lb/Dt) -0.15 (Db/Dp)0.2 Rep 0.33 Pr 0.62 ;For low thermal conductivity particles, Nuf = 8.77 ×(Lb/Dt) -0.15 (Db/Dp)0.2 Rep 0.33 Pr 0.62 .
