Research of Entrainment for Wave Directed Valve Tray
The hydraulic characteristics of wave directed valve trays were tested in a |μ 1000 mm stainless column using air-water system. The influences of liquid flow rate per unit weir length, outlet weir height, fractional hole area on entrainment were studied. The performance of wave directed valve trays were also compared with standard F1 valve trays. The results showed that wave directed valve trays had better hydraulic performances than F1 valve trays in back mixing and entrainment in different gas-liquid loads for its unique structure.
