Effects of Membrane, Spacer and Transmembrane Pressure Difference on Process of Oxygen Enrichment of Air
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method was used to simulate membrane separation for oxygen enrichment of air through grid channel and rectangular channel under different vacuum degrees. The results showed the oxygen concentration and the oxygen enrichment permeation depend on ideal separation factor and permeance coefficient. It could be achieved high oxygen concentration with the low permeance coefficient when ideal separation factors are the same. Spacer geometry in permeate-side channel could affect the performance of membrane module. CFD results revealed that grid channel is superior to rectangular channel. It was also concluded that effects of permeate-side channel on separation performance become more significant when the transmembrane pressure difference is higher.
