Study of High Efficient bis-Ruthenium trisbipyridyl ECL Label
A novel bis-Ruthenium(II) complex (bpy)2Ru(bpy)-(CH2)5-(bpy)Ru(bpy)24+ (where bpy is 2,2-bipyridinyl) has been designed and synthesized. Its electrochemiluminescence (ECL) property has been studied by using of tripropylamine (TPA), triethylamine (TEOA) and 2-(dibutylamino) ethanol (DBAE) as the co-reactant, respectively. The results demonstrated that the ECL intensity of the bis-ruthenium (II) complex can be enhanced significantly in comparison with that of the normally utilized Ru(bpy)32+ , which makes it possible to further improve the ECL efficiency and also the detection limit.
