Application of Fumed Silica in Improving Gloss and Ink Absorbent on Ink-Jet Paper

Influence of pigment properties on the surface performance of coated paper is studied ,and measure the structure of coated layer. The results show that both by chemical and physical methods of combining decentralized fumed silica, can obtain good decentralized results, the best dosage of A200 for 34 percent. With the increase of the content fumed silica, the gloss coated paper significantly improved,but the ink absorbent declined slightly. Coating solid content control in 25 percent,with a two-tier coated approach can obtained high gloss and appropriate ink absorbent.
