Study on TiO2 /NaY composite and photocatalysis of Omethoate degradation
Photodegradation of omethoate was studied using H2O2 as oxidant, TiO2 supported on NaY zeolite as photocatalyst. Parameters involved in the photo-catalysis of omethoate, i.e. the calcination temperature of photocatalyst, the amount of TiO2 loaded on NaY zeolite, photocatalyst amount and the irradiation time were investigated. Our results showed that TiO2/ NaY zeolite as photocatalyst using a sol -gel method achieved satisfactory results. It has been found that under our optized conditions, i.e. the calcination temperature of photocatalyst 550℃,the amount of TiO2 loaded on NaY zeolite 35.2% (wt/wt) and the amount of photocatalyst 5g/l. the removal of omethoate in pure water was up to 93%.
