Oxidation of unsaturated carboxylic acids in subcritical water
Increasing global fuel demand calls for efficient technology. The low temperature fluidity has long been a problem for the widely used biodiesel fuel (BDF). Considering the existence of large amount of unsaturated organics in BDF, one solution is to turn high molecular weight organics into low molecular weight organics. Hydrothermal reaction, using high-temperature water as a reaction medium, is a feasible way to achieve this objective.
