Oxidation of YangQuan anthracite in alkaline medium
The purpose of this paper is introducing a method for producing aromatic poly carboxylic acids from coal. Yang Quan anthracite was subjected to oxygen-oxidation in an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide to produce coal acids. The coal oxidation was performed in a two-liter autoclave and the initial oxygen pressure, reaction time, reaction temperature, the alkali/coal ratio and agitation frequency were changed respectively to study the influence on the yield of coal acids. It was found that reaction temperature and ratio of alkali to Coal are important conditions on the yield of CA. The optimum action conditions are: reaction temperature: 270 ℃, oxygen initial pressure: 5.5MPa, ratio alkali to Coal: 2.8:1,reaction time: 2hr, agitation frequency: 80r/min. The highest yield of coal acid under the optimum reaction conditions is 49.2 %(daf), which contains 56.3% benzene poly carboxylic acids.
