Experimental study of deflection flame impinged in the opposed multi-burner gasifier
The opposed multi-burner (OMB) gasifier which developed by ECUST and Yankuang Group promotes the development of Chinas coal gasification technology. The impinging flames generated by the air-blast burners with multi-channel are the main characteristic in this type of gasifier. Although the machining accuracy of the burners is strictly required, the deflection between the different channels may probably occur during the fuel and oxygen feeding process.Different two-channel burners are used in the experiments to study the relationship between the ratio of the burner deflection distance and the flame deflection angle. The images of deflection flame generated by one of the experimental burners impinged in the laboratory-scale gasifier are captured by the CCD camera. The centroid position of the impinging flames is also calculated through the digital image processing. The results show that, the flame deflection angle increased linearly when the ratio of the burner deflection distance increased. As one deflection burner employed in the OMB gasifier, the impinging flames are stable within a range of 12 degrees of the deflection flame angle. When the flame deflection angle bigger than 13 degrees, the centroid position will change significantly, the impinging flames will be deflected to the special burners side. It is concluded that the OMB gasifier has wide operation conditions, the above-mentioned researches lay the theory foundation for the industrial application.
