A Favorable Mechanism for Emergence of Cooperative Behavior
We present a new evolutionary mechanism for the strategies of the Prisoners Dilemma game,in which all the agents are placed on a network.Each agent is able to change its strategy so as to maximize the total payoff in its neighborhood.We also derive the replicator equations under the new mechanism with two different payoff matrices.It can be observed that this updating mechanism favors the emergence of cooperative behavior in the Prisoners Dilemma game,which is illustrated by a numerical simulation.
