STIMULATION OF THE OVARIAN FOLLICULAR ACTIVITY IN THE RABBITS BY TRIBULUS TERRESTRIA L.EXTRACT.
The effect of Tribulus terrestris L. on the androgenic metabolism in animal models and human is well known. The pharmacological value of this herb is estimated by the content of steroidal furastanol saponine as a protodioscin. It depends of the region of herb grown.According to the Ganzera et.al, (2001) the most higher content of the protodioscin is in the Bulgarian samples in comparison with Chinese and Indian. The last investigations shown that the Tribulus terrestris L content many biological active substances, including vitamins and micronutrients and possesses a total positive effect on the vitality of the organism. The data about use of this extract in the agricultural animals for the enhancement of their reproductive and productive abilities are very scanty. The aim of the present work was the study of the dose depend effect of Tribulus terrestris L. extract, used as a feed additive to the main diet, on the ovarian follicular activity in the rabbits.
