EFFECT OF CHOLESTEROL-LOADED β-CYCLODEXTRIN ON THE QUALITY SEXING BULL SPERM
Many studies have shown that cholesterol plays an important role in stabilizing sperm membranes. Cholesterol is lost from the sperm plasma membrane during capacitation, and when sufficient cholesterol is removed, the membrane becomes unstable, enhancing its ability to fuse with the outer acrosomal membrane, resulting in the acrosome reaction. Our experiments were conducted to determine if treating bull sperm with cholesterol-loaded cyclodextrin (CLC) could increase the percentages of motile and viable cells after freezing. And, what alteration of acid phosphatase released during the process of acrosome reactionthe by the cells treated with CLC and its control.
