RETROSPECTIVE AND CORRELATION ANALYSIS OF THE CLONED EMBRYOS USING LONG-TERM, SIX DIMENSIONAL LIVE-CELL IMAGING
Although most of cloned embryos from somatic cells can develop to blastocyst stage, their success rate to term is very low (~5%) probably due to the improper reprogramming and the embryonic damage by nuclear transfer procedure. To date, the only way to know the abnormalities of cloned embryos is e.g. immunofluorescent staining or gene expression analysis by RT-PCR, both of which requires the cell fixation and break steps.
