Cell Automata Simulation of Spatio-Temporal Behavior in Cubic Autocatalytic System Coupled with the Quadratic Decay Reaction

We present a two-dimensional hybrid cellular automata (CA)/partial differential equations (PDE) model that allows for the study of a catalyst reaction in reaction-diffusion system. The CA algorithm is applied to a close square lattice, and the evolution rules are simplified and established by molecular status. A relationship of the diffusion and the reactions is analogous to continuum results for the PDE models. The simulation results show that the reaction and diffusion of solution system are visibly enhanced by this CA model and the simulated effect is more real than former models.
