A Lattice Boltzmann Simulation of Chemical Waves in An Quadratic Autocatalytic System Coupled with the Quadratic Decay Reaction
A Lattice Boltzmann method is presented to simulate the chemical waves, whose momentum equation is the 2D diffusion-reaction equation. Applying the Chapman-Enskog expansion and multiscale technique, we obtain a series of Lattice Boltzmann equations in different timescales. A simple numerical scheme is designed to simulate the chemical waves in a quadratic autocatalytic system coupled with the quadratic decay reaction. The numerical example shows that the proposed method can be used to simulate chemical waves of diffusion-reaction system.
