Global Stability of an Epidemic Model With General Incidence Rate1

We study an SEI endemic model with a general contact rate, constant recruitment and diseasecaused death. The basic reproduction number is found. By constructing suitable Liapunov function and using Lasalle invariance principle, it is proved that the disease-free equilibrium is globally stable and the disease dies out eventually. The sufficient condition is established to ensure that the unique endemic equilibrium is globally stable. Numerical simulations support our analytical conclusions.
