Optimal taxation of a dynamic reaction model
The present paper deals with the problem of selective harvesting in a predator-prey model with Michaelis-Menten type functional response and Leslie type predators numerical response. A regulatory agency controls exploitation by imposing a tax per unit biomass of the prey species. The existence of its steady state and stability are studied. The problem of optimal taxation policy is then solved by using Pontryagins maximal principle.
