Dimensions and Influencing Factors of Life Insurers Managerial Performance
This paper presents a two-stage data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to measure managerial performance of life insurers in China.Performance is measured by marketing efficiency in the first stage,and profitability efficiency in the second stage.In addition,this paper uses the Tobit regression model to examine factors that influence managerial efficiency.Regression results show that marketing capability can be explained by ownership,ratio of retained premium,ratio of expense to premium,ratio of bank deposit and human resource quality,while profitability can be explained by firm size,ratio of equity to premium,ratio of expense to premium and loss ratio.
