Evacuation Strategy for Supertall Buildings
With the advance of building technology,many high-rise buildings or even supertall buildings have been built nowadays.Problems related to evacuation of supertall buildings are not yet well understood.It is obvious that evacuation route in taller buildings would be much longer than buildings of normal height.Evacuation strategies were surveyed in this project by interviewing the occupancies and the management.Three key aspects on the number of occupancies,the implementation of evacuation plan and the attitude of relevant parties were focused on.The evacuation time for high-rise buildings,some evacuation models and factors which could influence those models had been studied.The factors included the actual number of occupancies,usage of the buildings and procedures of evacuation.However,the effects of these factors are not determined locally.Preliminary study on the awareness and preparedness on evacuation strategies of the management companies and end-users in supertall buildings were also discussed.
