An Integrated Modeling Tool to Simulating Effect of Natural Ventilation on Indoor Air Quality and Room Thermal Conditions
Natural ventilation is important to both energy consumption and indoor air quality (IAQ).How to balance these two factors is crucial to ventilation strategies selection in buildings.A program to simulating the IAQ and room thermal conditions together was developed. It integrated with building thermal modeling, natural ventilation modeling using multi-zone method and IAQ modeling.By using this tool,a case study was presented to analyze the impacts of natural ventilation on both IAQ and room thermal conditions in an apartment in winter.By comparing the results of different ventilation strategies, the optimized strategies were suggested.
