Urban Climate Simulation and the Evaluation of Thermal Environment of a Southern Coastal City in Korea
For studying urban thermal environmental phenomenon like heat island,numerical simulation can be an effective way.To carry out urban climate simulation,analyzing urban structure is needed and as its possible to collect huge urban information by multifarious means in the present age,utilizing GIS which manages such information is a way of effective access when analyzing urban structure.Therefore this study aims at constructing EGIS DB of a coastal area Haeundae and performing statistical analysis for understanding urban structure and for ultimately accomplishing numerical simulation.In this study,EGIS DB including building information database is constructed as a 200×200m mesh data and 8-type of representative areas are picked as a result of the Principal Component Analysis and the Cluster Analysis.On this base,thermal environment simulation of the summer day is carried out by UCSS (Urban Climate Simulation System) Box Model and the result is analyzed on the side of air temperature,humidity,wind velocity and heat budget.
