Fenestration Products with Adjustable Heat-protective Characteristics: Heat-reflecting Screen and Venetian Blends

An experimental study and full-size tests of Venetian blinds and window screens with heatreflecting coatings have been carried out to evaluate the potential of such blinds and screens in reduction of heat losses through glass building envelopes.Data obtained in full-scale tests of vertical Venetian blinds installed on double-pane windows from the indoor side are reported.Also presented are results of laboratory tests of Venetian blinds and window screens installed on windows with triple glazing.Wintertime tests of interpane screens and Venetian blinds were performed; these tests proved high efficiency of such thermal shields in reduction of heat losses through windows.
