Study on the Operating Parameters in Metal Hydride Refrigeration Cycle
Metal hydride has become one of the most prospective refrigerants because of its benign environmental impact and benefit of using waste heat.But it also has some weaknesses,such as high price of the material and high pressure in the reaction which make its experimental research so difficult.In order to ensure the safety of the prototype machine,a theoretic study should be carried out firstly to pre-evaluate the operating parameters.This paper established a theoretic lumped parameter dynamic model of the metal hydride refrigeration cycle.With the calculating software Matlab7.0 and Runge-Kutta4 (RK4) mathematical method,the dynamic operating parameters of the metal hydride refrigeration cycle are studied.Based on the results,the parameters are optimized in the final calculation using the mathematical model,and the result showed that the performance of the system can be improved greatly.
