Experimental Studies of Direct Evaporation Ice-on-coil with Variable Coil Arrangement Density
In order to study the influence of the direct evaporation coil arrangement density on the characteristic of the direct evaporation ice-on-coil thermal storage system.A direct evaporation ice-on-coil thermal storage experimental platform was set up with the directevaporation coil arrangement density changeable.The direct evaporation ice-on-coil was designed with the copper tube of diameter 16mm and wall thickness 1mm and it can be arrayed at high arrangement density,middle arrangement density or low arrangement density in the ice storage bank.The ice storage and heat releasing experiments were done at the three kinds of coil arrangement density.The experimental results show that with the increasing of the ice arrangement density,the characteristic of the thermal storage system performance improved markedly.The high arrangement density system shortens about 2~3 hours of ice storage at the same storage capacity and the average heat releasing rate of the high arrangement density system is 1.8 times the low arrangement density coil system at the same ice storage quantities,chilled backwater temperature and the flux.
