Experimental Heat and Mass Transport Analysis of Coupled Rotating Sorption and Sensible Wheels

Building consumes large amount of energy for its operation. At present, maintenance of indoor artificially controlled environment contributes to the higher building energy consumption and environmental problems.Sorption based cooling system is an alternative device for the maintenance of indoor thermal comfort condition that operates using alternative energy sources and harmless working substances to lessen the impact of building energy consumption and environmental problem.Sorption wheel is the most important component of the sorption based cooling system and the performance of the whole system depends on it.Experimental studies had been conducted on the performance evaluation of the sorption processes based on important parameters such as of regeneration temperature, flow rates and rotational speed for practical performance evaluation.Evaluation of the energy consumption of the system has been done when sensible wheel is in tandem operation with the sorption wheel.
