A Study on Influencing Factors of Night Ventilation Efficiency

Night ventilation is one of the effective energy-saving measures for cooling buildings.Three factors that affect night ventilation efficiency include climatic factors, architectural characteristic and ventilation volume.By using the numerical simulation software-Dest,the data of room temperature under the different climatic conditions are brought into comparison first. It indicates that night ventilation is especially suitable for the regions with great temperature difference between the day and the night. Then the room temperatures are compared under the different building materials conditions. It shows that the greater thermal resistance coefficient of building envelope, the smaller heat transfer coefficient, and the more obvious ventilation effect. Finally, through the simulation of different ventilation volumes,it can be concluded that air exchange frequency is not proportional to ventilation efficiency. The study shows that night ventilation can reduce the indoor temperature during the day, delay the turn-on time of air conditioners and reduce the energy consumption of air conditioners during the day on the premise that the requirements for comfort and improving indoor air quality are satisfied.
