Studies on Design and Construction of a Chamber with Multiple Performances
A proper chamber is of primary importance for the research on indoor contaminants.A single operating mode and a limited number of the existing chambers have hold back the development of air cleaning field.A chamber with a volume of 5.6 m×3.6 m×2.4 m was built up in the center.This chamber was not only of large room but also endued with multiple performances.Surrounded with stainless steel,it was suitable for studies related to volatile organic compounds (VOCs).Every point that might leak was specially dealt with.Leakage air flow and leakage ratio from this chamber were 1.3L/min and 2.0×10-3,respectively,and the latter was lower than 1.0×10-2 regulated in ISO10648-2.Pressure dropped from 500pa to 250pa in 35 minutes,15 minutes longer than regulated in the guidelines.With the help of variable-air-volume valve,constant static pressure and proper pressure difference were achieved.Six airflow patterns could be formed and most parameters in the chamber were variables.This satisfactory chamber offered a platform for the study of indoor air quality.
