Study on Filtration Model of Indoor Formaldehyde Biodegradation by Pseudomonas putida
Formaldehyde emitted from building materials or furniture has been discussed world widely on the relations between indoor air pollution and sick building syndrome (SBS).Thus the treatment industry of indoor air pollutant is developing in the movement,while biofiltration of formaldehyde presents brighter future.The mechanism of formaldehyde biodegradation by Pseudomonas putida was anatomized in this paper.Immobilized microbial cells in alginate gels have been used for the sake of good bacterial activity.Mass and heat transfer of hydro beads and liquid film are analyzed and a global model has been established to solve the problem.Further research of biodegradation models in biofilter and experimental validation will be carded out in the coming soon.
