Gradient Utilization of Low Temperature Geothermal Water in a HVAC System

A HVAC system in which low temperature geothermal water is passed through the radiator system and the evaporators of water source heat pump system serially was proposed,and its application to the reconstruction of an existing HVAC system was researched.To minimize the total energy consumption of the heat pumps,the water pumps and the geothermal water,an energy consumption simulation model was developed,and the optimal outlet temperature of radiator system th,namely,inlet temperature of evaporators in water source heat pump system can be obtained.The energy of geothermal water was equivalent to electric consumption in this simulation model.The simulation for the gradient utilization of 45℃ low temperature geothermal water applied to the reconstruction of the existing HVAC system in Tianjin Zoo showed,that the optimal temperature th and optimal total electric consumption is 34℃ and 275000KWh respectively.The energy cost of running for the gradient utilization scheme is minimum,comparing with coal fired heating scheme and conventional heat pump scheme.
